Thanks to BCE’s long experience within the industry, deciding on a plinth foundation was easy
Having a cottage in the archipelago is a dream that many people hold. Sara and Roger Sundqvist were no exception. So in November 2020, they decided to build a log cabin for year-round housing on their lot at Enbuskören in the Eugmo archipelago.
They opted for a Kuusamo house of 50 m², which was delivered in the spring of 2021. At the beginning of March, the ice was still thick enough to carry plinths and a large volume of timber over it. However, the house package was transported to the site by barge in May.
Sara and Roger agreed upon a plinth foundation, and BCE offered the absolute best option.
The couple didn't have to make a decision based on a lack of information. Roger has worked within the construction industry for over 35 years, so his expertise is way above average. He could also compare different plinth solutions to evaluate their quality. The couple concluded that the base plinths from BCE ticked every box.
They spent their summer building the cottage, and by September, most of the construction was completed. The couple was eagerly waiting to take the cabin into use. They add that when the time comes to enlarge the terrace, the plinths from BCE will be a natural choice.
A pergola for plants is being planned for the spring of 2022 and ensuring it's stable and solid; the idea is that four BCE plinths will form the lower base of the pergola.
